firstPRO is seeking an experienced Wireless Network Engineer to manage, support, and enhance our wireless network infrastructure. This role involves designing, configuring, and optimizing wireless LAN (WLAN) systems, ensuring high-performance connectivity and seamless wireless access across our organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, hands-on experience with wireless technologies, and a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, configure, and deploy wireless network infrastructure, ensuring high availability, security, and optimal performance.
- Conduct wireless site surveys, RF assessments, and develop solutions for maximizing wireless coverage and reliability.
- Support and maintain WLAN hardware, including access points, controllers, and monitoring systems.
- Monitor and troubleshoot network performance, implementing solutions for connectivity and security challenges.
- Collaborate with IT teams for capacity planning, infrastructure upgrades, and network security.
- Develop and maintain documentation, including network diagrams, device configurations, and operating procedures.
Essential Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in managing or supporting wireless network and monitoring infrastructure.
- Strong experience with wireless network design tools, such as Ekahau.
- Proficiency in wireless network monitoring systems, particularly Airwave Network Monitoring.
- Experience in configuring Aruba wireless access points (APs) and controllers.
- Knowledge of various wireless protocols, including 802.11a, g, n, ac, and ax standards.
- Expertise in developing wireless network design and operational strategies.
- Innovative thinker with strong problem-solving skills in network environments, particularly in wireless networking, switching, and IP routing.
- Solid understanding of network protocols, including TCP/IP.
- Experience with controller-based wireless network infrastructure and Aruba ClearPass.
- Familiarity with multiple operating systems and platforms.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills for a collaborative work environment.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, adapt to shifting priorities, and work independently or as part of a team.
- Willingness to work outside regular hours and be on call for network maintenance and critical network issue resolution.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified Wireless Network Administrator (CWNA) or equivalent certification.
- Familiarity with network management and monitoring tools.
- Experience with Wi-Fi troubleshooting tools and Aruba Visual RF.
- Expertise with Aruba wireless equipment, including the Aruba 7xxx controller platform and AP models (AP33x, AP53x, AP65X).
- Knowledge of Airwave and other network monitoring tools.
